Dr. Walters and his wife were born and raised in Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he completed a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Dr. Walters then moved to the Phoenix metro area where he earned his medical degree at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Maricopa Medical Center.

 

He then completed a surgical fellowship in Advanced Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery at George Washington University Hospital and the Washington DC VA medical centers. During this time, he received additional training in advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures of the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, colon, and abdominal wall and performed numerous minimally invasive procedures including hernia repairs, advanced endoscopy, and oncologic operations to remove cancers.

 

Following training, Dr. Walters joined a Wichita, KS-based full-spectrum general surgery practice with a heavy focus on EGD/colonoscopy, hernia repairs, anti-reflux procedures, and colorectal surgery. He now returns “home” to Phoenix with his family to establish roots.

 

Dr. Walters is married with three children who were all born in Phoenix. He enjoys playing golf, attending sporting events, and coaching his kids’ athletics
